About the role & key responsibilities
Due to internal growth, we are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator for our Farm, located around 40 minutes from Bendigo, Victoria!
In this role you will support the team in a combination of duties as outlined below:
- Machinery pre-start checks and preventative maintenance
- Cleaning out straw-based pig sheds
- Placing straw bales into clean sheds
- Offloading and stacking of straw deliveries
- Assisting in moving of loading ramps on site
- Pig mortality removal and composting
- Compost turning
- Grounds maintenance and site clean up
- Operating machinery and equipment
When recruiting for this role we are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience working in a farming environment and are able to cope with the physical demands of the role
- Telehandler ticket (>3ton) preferred
- Tractor driving experience
- Skid steer driving experience
- HR or HC license preferred (optional)
- A certificate in Agriculture (optional)
- High regard of OH&S and animal safety
- Work flexible hours that might require some weekend and public holiday work (penalty pay rates apply)
- Be prepared to learn new skills and train others
