Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
- Set up and operate machines such as drills, grinders, and milling equipment to perform specified tasks.
- Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specifications to ensure accurate machine settings and desired outcomes.
- Input commands into computer systems to control machine functions and ensure proper execution of tasks.
- Load raw materials and parts onto machines, monitor machine operations, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Apply quality control techniques to maintain high standards of workmanship and product integrity.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, under supervision, to achieve production goals and quality targets.
- Contribute to workplace health and safety by reporting incidents, adhering to safety protocols, and following company policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training and development of new Machinists, apprentices, and team members within the department.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery competently, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness of equipment.
- Participate in operational improvements, including lean manufacturing principles, to maximize production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to machine operations, production outputs, and quality control measures.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for operational improvements, process enhancements, and productivity initiatives.
- Assist Supervisors in investigating causes of quality problems and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Suitable certification or relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience in a similar environment.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating machines such as drills, grinders, and milling equipment is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specifications.
- Proficiency in using computer systems to input commands and control machine functions.
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
