Machine Operators,Sanitation Team, Case Packers

Tyson Foods Australia operates a food processing facility in the Somerset Region approx. 35 minutes from Ipswich.  Operations consist of two production shifts and a nightly sanitation shift.  Opportunities are available for highly motivated and committed individuals to join our team across all three shifts. Experience in a similar food processing environment is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided. 

These positions would suit residents with their own transport and current driver's license living in the Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Ipswich regions. No public transport is available to reach the facility for the required working hours. 

As we continue to grow and meet the requirements of our customers we have several positions available for the following shifts.

You will be working in a cold environment 8-12 degrees, it is a requirement that you are able to work in these conditions.

Packers  - Retail repack - Casual Position - Day & Afternoon

The packing role is a fast paced, physical role involving the following duties:

• Packing patties to the required numbers per specifications
• Weighing cartons and making alterations to ensure they meet specifications
• Removal of non-conforming product into the appropriate containers
• Liaise with machinery operators
• Ensure work area is clean and tidy
• Set up of the pack off area
• Conduct Pattie inspections

Afternoon Labourer - 3pm - 11 pm - approximate hours 

• Strong mathematical & analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong computer skills / Microsoft office packages
• Adaptability / Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Fresh meat stock takes
• Understanding of meat eligibility for market
• Understanding process flows / organisation
• Understanding traceability (use of a scanner)
• Good housekeeping and hygiene
• Ability to lift 30kg       

Night Shift Team Members - Sanitation 

Please note the hours of work for the night shift role is 10:00pm - 06.00am (5-6 days per week). Please only apply if these hours suit your lifestyle. Candidates will need to possess the ability to pay attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility. The Night Shift team are responsible for ensuring the hygienic cleanliness and quality of the factory, as well as performing quality checks on the machinery after the cleaning process. Above all, to be a successful member of the Night Shift team, you will need to be totally reliable for each rostered shift. Duties will include tasks such as:

• Use of chemicals and hot water > 60 degrees
• Manual scrubbing and cleaning
• Use of hoses and cleaning tools
• Assembly and disassembly of machinery
• Understanding of PPE and good work place health and safety.
• Attention to detail
