The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mail Room Operator to work on Ventia’s Defence Base Services contract. Based at HMAS Stirling / Garden Island in Rockingham, this position will see you be responsible for the loading and unloading of mail, as well as sorting incoming and outgoing mail.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position scheduled to end on 30/12/2024 with a possible 6month extension. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 07:00am-03:00pm, with 01:00pm finishes on Fridays.

The pay rate for this position is $28.25 per hour.

To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Key duties, but not limited to:

• Ensure all documentation is maintained and accurate at all times
• Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of base mail and its security whilst in transit
• Receive & sort incoming mail from Australia Post courier
• Make up morning & afternoon mail delivery runs for the transport driver
• Receive and sort incoming packages from TOLL and ad-hoc courier companies
• Use local databases to locate and re-direct mail items

Requirements:

• Australian Driver’s License
• Experience in a similar role – Highly regarded
• Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Suite
