Maintenance Asset Officer (Operations and Admin) – Araluen Botanic Park, Roleystone, Perth WA
Araluen Botanic Park, nestled in the scenic Roleystone area of Perth, WA, is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Asset Officer to oversee the management of our assets, including heritage site facilities and our vehicle fleet. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation and preservation of our cherished botanic garden and heritage site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the comprehensive inventory of all park assets, including tools, machinery, vehicles, and buildings, through dong asset inspections and data entry on QGIS and asset registers.
- Continue to implement asset management plans and schedules for regular maintenance and servicing of Fleet.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the park’s vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe, functional, and well-maintained and ensure staff are completing preventative safety forms when using fleet.
- Keeping accurate records of safety and compliance documents.
Collaborate with financial teams to prepare budgets and reports related to asset procurement and maintenance. - Work closely to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and preservation standards for heritage buildings or structures when doing preventative or corrective maintenance scheduling or works.
- Coordinate with colleagues to ensure their asset needs are met and align with park policies for maintenance of operational assets.
- Handle vendor relationships for the maintenance, repair, and procurement of assets when engaging trades for works.
- Conduct inductions of trades contractors and ensure compliance with the provision of SWMS, JSA Insurances and other safety elements. Supervise contractors and ensure works are done to agreed specs.
Requirements:
Proven experience in asset maintenance management, ideally within a similar environment (e.g., parks, heritage sites, large estates).
Knowledge of and experience with fleet management and maintenance.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with various teams.
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays as needed 9 (September).
