Maintenance Electrician

An exciting opportunity exists at our abattoirs for a skilled full time Maintenance Electrician. This position is part on our onsite maintenance team. The successful applicant will be responsible to the maintenance manager for day to day and long-term electrical maintenance across the plant where required. The role is a full-time role with comparable salary/wages plus potential for overtime. This position would suit a person who has production plant experience and knowledge of same including electrical, IT and equipment technology systems. The person we seek will have a sound employment history with the manufacturing history and seeks long term employment with a major local employer and enjoys of being part of a flexible team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a safe work environment
- Ensuring minimum downtime of all plant electrical & control systems through prompt response to & resolutions of equipment breakdown.
- Ensuring maximum equipment reliability through completion of assigned preventative & corrective maintenance activity.
- Assisting in maintaining spare parts & equipment to cover all critical areas & source prospective suppliers of new and existing equipment.
- Communicating plant issues to maintenance manager, plant manager & production supervisors.
- Identifying & developing potential plant & operational efficiency improvements to improve plant production & minimise downtime and waste.
- Supporting fellow maintenance team members in understanding and resolving technical issues.
- OHnS and QA Documentation
About you:
- You hold a Victorian A grade electrical license.
- Strong fault-finding skills.
- Solid understanding of GMP & HACCP concepts and procedures.
- The ability to function independently and as part of a team without direct supervision
- Good communication & interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge of WH&S regulations.
