Maintenance Engineer Or Technician

If the answer is yes, Vekta Automation has a great opportunity for you. Due to our continued growth, we are looking to hire a field service and support Maintenance Engineer or Technician with experience or interest in programming, electrics and mechanics to become a key player in providing Vekta customers with advanced service and support in Australia and beyond. This role would work closely with our existing field engineers and technicians to create an advanced service and support experience for Vekta customers. This role will require regular travel to various sites located in both metro and regional locations and less frequently our head office in WA and other states.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Perform mechanical service and maintenance. 
• Provide timely reports using a service application and ticketing system to track time, issues, and solutions. 
• Comply with all WHS requirements, by strictly adhering to established safety standards.  
• Diagnosing faults with mechanical systems such as bearings, gearboxes, belts, motors, conveyors, etc. 
• Diagnosing faults with machinery operation and assisting customers to rectify issues promptly. 
• Assist with providing technical support to customers, including diagnosing and troubleshooting. 
• Assist with mechanical system installations. 
• Assemble and fit machined parts. 

Essential skills

• Confident in servicing and maintaining machinery. 
• Confident in mechanical fitting, e.g. changing motors, pulling bearings, replacing belts.  
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities. 
• Self-driven and safety conscious 
• Above average computer skills 

Employment experience 

• Experience servicing/ maintaining automated machinery (preferred, but not essential) 
• Experience in customer service (preferred, but not essential) 

Qualifications

• Electrical or Mechanical Trade Certificate (desired) OR 
• Graduate engineer with passion for field work 

Registration/Licensing requirements

• Driver’s License valid in state/ country of operation is a condition of employment
