Your new role
In this role, you will head up the engineering and maintenance operations, shaping policies, systems, processes, and metrics, and orchestrating engineering and maintenance projects throughout the company.
Responsibilities include:
Championing safety aspects and actively utilising the safety connections system
Meeting safety connection KPIs (e.g., Critical risk surveys, toolbox talks, safety walks)
Guiding and prioritising the activities of the site engineering team to optimise technical resources
Scoping, designing, and costing engineering projects, including capital submissions
Identifying process improvement opportunities through new capital works, modifications to existing designs and processes, enhanced production techniques, and the development of suitable test procedures
Supervising the maintenance team of fitters, electricians, and contractors to ensure the repair of all site facilities and operating equipment, delivering a reliable plant operating within control
Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns to identify immediate and root causes of failures
Reducing maintenance costs through the effective implementation of a preventative and planned maintenance program and supervision of maintenance staff and contractors
Accurately determining reasons for failure and suggesting design and/or system modifications if required
Developing SOPs for common maintenance tasks and ensuring training to follow these procedures is in place
Actively promoting all aspects of Quality & Environment
Meeting KPIs for Quality targets
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
Engineering/maintenance management experience, with a focus on engineering and project management
Proven experience in a management role, organisational competencies, and project management skills
An analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
A self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
Ability to work individually or as part of a team
