About the role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter at Queensland Rail, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small plant equipment, tools, and machinery essential for the operation and safety of our rail services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment where your skills and expertise will be put to good use.
This role will require you to have flexible availability to work a roster that includes weekends, you will receive penalty rates.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include
• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics of small plant equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on various tools, machinery and equipment.• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment condition.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure equipment readiness.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

About you
• Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification.
• Proven experience in small plant maintenance, including knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Availability for flexible hours including weekends.
• Proficiency in using computers and ability to learn new programs/ equipment.
