Leda Nutrition is a family-owned company which produces a diverse range of special dietary/ gluten free bakery snacks, crackers and biscuits. As well as suppling into all the major Australian supermarkets, we also have export markets in New Zealand. An exciting opportunity exists for the services of an eager, trade qualified Mechanical/ Maintenance Fitter/ Fitter-Machinist at our Luscombe manufacturing plant. The maintenance team is pivotal to providing high quality engineering and maintenance services to our production facility, ensuring critical plant reliability to support consistent high-quality product to our customers. Qualifications & experience
- A good communicator, with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement and is able to challenge the process to strive for continuous improvement
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. “Ability to think outside the square” and a self-starter with a positive attitude, initiative who can work independently
- Appropriate trade qualification as a Mechanical /Maintenance Fitter, Fitter-Machinist with 3 - 5 years’ work experience in the baking industry or related food manufacturing
- Ensure all mechanical work carried out on plant and equipment is completed in an efficient and effective manner to meet company standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety codes of practice and ensure these practices are adhered to.
- Substantial post and/ or trade experience in breakdown, fault finding and line start up experience.
- Experienced in food manufacturing environment, mixers, ovens, conveyors, flow wrappers and VFF machines, chocolate equipment, automated packing systems.
- Sound skills using mills, lathes, welding tig, mig etc.
- Forklift/EWP license would be an advantage.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Using lean manufacturing principals actively focus on plant operation to meet or exceed line efficiency, performance and quality targets.
- Conducting root cause analysis on failures and ensuring follow up actions occur on identified issues.
- Working with the management & production teams to improve productivity and make necessary improvements and amendments to the production equipment and facility.
- Coordinating, issuing and undertaking tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conducting PM plans and work orders within our maintenance system and in accordance with plant and machinery availability. Submit jobs for inclusion onto the Maintenance schedule
- Ensuring the correct operation of equipment to minimise downtime
- Record keeping as required for our food safety programs and quality assurance programs.
- Parts and material ordering as required.
