The Role
Our school grounds are a source of pride, and we are seeking a dedicated Team Member to join our property and facilities team, supporting the maintenance of our buildings, amenities, grounds and school operational activities to the highest standards. The successful appointment will become a key member of the school’s operations ensuring proactive, safe, and efficient maintenance of the school’s buildings, grounds, and equipment.
The main responsibilities and duties will include however not limited to:
- Minor repairs around the school campus to fixtures, fittings, doors and furniture
- Set-up/pack-down of equipment, furniture, flags, decorations for school functions and activities based on a busy school event calendar
- Moving furniture as required around the school’s campus
- General groundskeeping and property maintenance such as gardening, irrigation system management, landscaping, building maintenance, and painting
- Ability to use the internal service desk job log system to accept, log and close out jobs
- School operations support including traffic management, crossing supervision, internal deliveries
- Ensuring compliance with school policies, procedures, and safety responsibilities
About you
The ideal candidate will be and hold:
- Capable of working independently with a proactive mindset while also thriving in a team environment
- Proficient in utilising a range of hand and power tools with relevant experience
- Mechanically minded with the ability to conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to the school’s buildings and property
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform regular manual work
- Excellent communication skills with a professional demeanour
- Basic level of computer skills
- Current driver's license
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to apply)
- First-Aid qualifications ( HLTAID009 CPR Course, HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid & ASCIA anaphylaxis) – (can be provided by the School)
- Child safety and mandatory reporting training
