Maintenance Hotworks -
Leading Hand, you will:
- perform boilermaker welder duties and supervise mechanical team in a manner that protects safety, health, and the environment, whilst conforming to quality and time requirements,
- always ensure good housekeeping habits and to maintain a safe worksite for yourself and fellow workers,
- ensure that assigned tasks are within capabilities and qualifications, and report progress accurately.
Responsibilities:- Work to and guide crew through Permit System,
- Ensure all JSA's (Job Safety Analysis) are reviewed and understood, and all associated paperwork is satisfactorily completed to permit and Wood Quality Assurance requirements,
- Maintain good conduct and work harmoniously with other employees using fundamental interpersonal skills required of the work setting,
- Good communication is essential to ensure information you relay is understood, and you must actively listen to workers to confirm their understanding of your instructions,
- Be an effective Team Leader by keeping communication lines open. Be approachable and proactive in workplace discussions in relation to safety and all work and planning processes,
- Plan all work taking into account changing conditions and to report progress accurately,
- Read and understand detailed drawings including isometric, lay out and P&ID's or specifications to plan and complete the task and ascertain the materials and equipment required,
- Applying appropriate welding methods to attach part or assemble, structural steel, equipment or pipework, including pipe supports and brackets to specific test standards,
- Modifications / rectifications of prefabricated modules,
- Punch Listing,
- Selecting, setting up and operating hand tools and welding equipment,
- Able to be assigned to work independently in satellite location with small group of mechanical trades.
Qualifications:- Fully qualified / indentured Boilermaker, Structural Steel Fabricator and/or Welder,
- Demonstrates a minimum of one year industry (oil and gas) experience,
- Department of Labour Certificate 4 (Piping Alloy Steel), 3E (All position Plate - down hand, vertical and overhead) and 7 (Mig - continuous wire feed),
- Qualified in the proficient use of the Semi-Automatic Welding Processes (i.e. Fronius/Lincoln STT) in the 6G positions,
- Has successfully completed a Supervisory Training course.
