About the Role

An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Leading Hand to join our Tarrawonga site in the Maintenance team. The Leading Hand will be employed under a roster of 4/5/5/4 alternating day & night 12-hour shifts

What You’ll Do

• Assist in leading the maintenance crew of up to 12 workers, providing guidance and proactive leadership skills.
• Complete planned, unplanned, and corrective maintenance tasks
• Ensure compliance to Whitehaven Coals Occupational Health and Safety Standard is being met.
• Ensure that all incidents, accidents and hazards are reported and are followed up correctly to minimise and manage risk.
• Inspect equipment and raise job requests on any defective parts/components found.
• Step up to supervise during planned shutdowns.

What You’ll Bring

• Hold a Certificate III in Mechanical, Auto Electrical, Electrical or Heavy Fabrication (Trade Certificate).
• Experience in a Leading Hand position.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• Demonstrate good time management.
• Significant experience in heavy equipment.
