Fleet Maintenance Officer
Location: Notting Hill
Remuneration: $65,000 to $75,000 per annum (plus 11% superannuation)

St John Ambulance (Vic) has been saving lives and delivering care and compassion throughout Victoria for 140 years. Our volunteers and our staff are the lifeblood of everything we do. We are currently recruiting for an Fleet Maintenance Officer to ensure our fleet and equipment are maintained ensuring safety and reliability.
The Opportunity
The Fleet Maintenance Officer oversees and maintain an effective fleet and equipment maintenance program that prolongs the of St John Ambulance vehicles and supporting equipment, ensures safe operation of all equipment and complete repairs in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will require extensive knowledge of all vehicle types and equipment maintenance needs and the ability to recognise when repairs should be performed.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate & manage fleet maintenance activities and related services
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules, regulations and safety requirements
- Develop maintenance schedules for fleet vehicles and equipment minimising interruptions
- Develop and maintain the fleet register and maintain detailed and reliable whole of life costs for individual fleet items
- Attend to reactive fleet maintenance including after-hours break downs
- Manage insurance lodgements and claims, and repair process
- Maximise fleet availabity and limit downtime through smart scheduling and coordination of takes
- Safely and efficiently move fleet asses between branches and service depots
- Experience in fleet management services and operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance practices and the ability to apply them to a large fleet ensuring availability, efficiency and reduced costs
- Ability to manage competing demands and deadlines while maintaining accuracy within a high-volume environment
- Ability to adapt to changes in the operating environment, processes and systems
- Strong attention to detail in data entry and administration
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level computer skills including Microsoft and Fleet Management Software
