Maintenance Officer | Full-time | Tiwi, NT
As Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for a range of both preventative and corrective maintenance duties right across the residence including equipment and plant monitoring, grounds upkeep, and accurate, timely reporting.
You will possess a strong work ethic, excellent technical skills, and a passion for providing a safe and comfortable environment for our elderly residents.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and functionality of the facility.
- Perform repairs and general maintenance tasks, such as painting, carpentry, and minor equipment repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimise disruption and maintain resident satisfaction.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and repairs.
- Coordinate and liaise with external contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance projects.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for both staff and residents
As a collaborative member of the team, you will possess:
- Trade certified or relevant qualification
- Current valid driver's license, CPR and First Aid certificate
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Officer or similar role, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting
- Solid knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with staff, residents, and external contractors
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance work.
