We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer / Handyperson to join the team at our client's aged care facility in the Newcastle area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the facility is well-maintained, safe, and operating efficiently. Your work will contribute to the overall well-being and comfort of the residents.
This is a casual position
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and facility policies.
- Maintain and organise the tools and equipment required for various tasks.
- Collaborate with other staff to plan and prioritize maintenance activities.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and supplies inventory.
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialised repairs are needed.
- Proven experience using hand tools.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a daily task list.
- Some experience with small works like paint, carpentry or electrical
