An exciting opportunity exists in the full-time permanent role of Maintenance Repair and Operations Buyerto be based at our Kelso food manufacturing facility in the Bathurst area of regional NSW. Simplot Kelso is our seafood and snacking processing plant, producing 75 SKUs for the retail and foodservice markets. The site employs about 100 people and processes around 50 tonnes of product daily, with approximately 95% of manufactured goods consisting of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager-APAC-Global Procurement, in this Mon-Fri role you will be responsible for purchasing of services and goods to support maintenance, operations and functional departments (e.g. QA) and Capex purchasing to support our capital programs. This will include pricing, purchasing, service sourcing, contractor management for select contractor, PO invoice resolution and reporting in accordance with all applicable internal policies and procedures to ensure goods and material are properly received with emphasis on quality, customer service and cost reduction. Experience working in a maintenance or manufacturing setting will be highly regarded.

• Assume responsibility for delivery of all aspects of the purchase transaction, including; vendor selection, sourcing, accurate and prompt transaction processing in addition to problem solving & resolution
• Conversion of requisitions to purchase orders (PO), expediting of critical purchases, management of approved vendor lists and validation of vendor pricing
• Resolution of transactional vendor quality complaints
• Invoice reconciliation
• Work in conjunction with accounts payable function and master data management teams to ensure vendor data is up to date and accurate
• Provide training and support for suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and procurement work flows to expedite purchases
• Contribute in strategic activities in collaboration with the Global procurement team to implement and manage strategic contracts and service agreement for facilities maintenance & outsourcing of plant services
• Provide relief coverage for other buyers as required

• Demonstrated experience in purchasing of industrial supplies, as a parts interpreter or working in a maintenance capacity will be highly regarded
• Knowledge of purchasing / planning / inventory or warehousing roles
• A 100% commitment to health & safety in the workplace
• Experience with CMMS / Purchasing Systems - MEX / JDE / SAP would be advantageous
• Intermediate to advanced user of the MS Office suite of products
• Strong levels of attention to detail
• A high level of both written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in a customer focused role (e.g. internal customers)
• Leadership experience will be advantageous
• Ability to liaise with a wide demographic of employees and contractors from the Production Team through to the Global Procurement Team
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based D&A screening)
