The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Coordinator, and the primary role is to lead the Maintenance Operations teams in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices/procedures meet statutory, Company OHS and Company operational standards within the Maintenance Department.

- Lead the team’s safety compliance through actively monitoring work practices, participating in safety programmesandfollowing up on improvement initiatives.
- Ensure any external consultants or contractors are adequately inducted.
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Ensure reporting systems and administrative processes are compiled with in accordance with established systems.
- Display a clear commitment to safety and health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment. .
- Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes.
- Active participation in all communication and awareness systems.
- Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment.
- Ensuring that all Contractors and employees within Maintenance Department adhere to Company Environmental Policy and practices.
- Contribute to the planning process that enables production and processing optimisation.
- Ensure open communication with stakeholders are well informed with activities, work or tasks being undertaken in the stakeholder’s area.
- Operate in accordance with Company’s Stakeholder Policy.
- Manage maintenance personnel to ensure the effective maintenance of plant and ancillaries.
- Work closely with the Process Supervisor/s and Electrical Supervisor/s to ensure the process plant and facilities available are such that the key resources and assets are effectively utilised and optimised.
- Ensure all activities are conducted to achieve lowest cost production.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Management of all activities so that they are carried out in a cost-effective manner.
- Ability to provide effective direction and advice to subordinate personnel.
- Develop and coach all direct reports to promote employee development.
- Complete formal annual employee performance reviews for all direct reports.
- Ensure team complies with the Work Management System
- Complete accurate and timely shift reports and arrange shift coverage and rosters.
- Provide on-call support overnight on a regular basis.
- Provide support in any area of the plant when required.
- Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker Trade Qualification.
- Frontline management or equivalent desirable.
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
- Current Police Clearance
- Western Australian Construction White Card
- Minimum 5 years Maintenance experience on a mine site.
- Sound understanding of fixed plant maintenance principals and their application in practice.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead a team to achieve organisational goals.
- High level of knowledge in statutory safety and environmental requirements relevant to plant maintenance and classified plant.
- Good level of knowledge in computer literacy, in particular Pronto and MS Office.
- Solid awareness of Maintenance Management Systems and maintenance practices in a processing environment.
- Ability to plan and or anticipate likely scenarios as related to all key responsibility areas.
- Able to effectively allocate the organisation’s resources to achieve business requirements.
- Ability to develop appropriate action plans in order to respond to current and emerging issues.
- Strong communication skills and presentation skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
- St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).
- Awareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
