Works Supervisor required for 6 month LG opportunity
Your new company
Hays Recruitment are looking for an experienced Works Supervisor to join a large and growing Perth Local Government SOR. This is a 6-month vacancy.
Your new role
In this role, you will support the Works Supervisor by providing supervision and leadership required to ensure all work associated with works maintenance is completed efficiently and on budget. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Personnel supervision, including performance monitoring
- Supervision of contractors carrying out all contracts and other related works associated with the Road Services area
- Undertaking investigations into accidents, insurance claims, complaints and other necessary handling of reports
- Preparation of progress reports and recommendations of works
- Monitor all works to ensure they are completed to council specifications and costs, monitoring quality control / assurance procedures, and to identify and correct any deviations or faults
- Working alongside the Works Manager to prepare a road services works program
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to have demonstrated experience in the maintenance of urban roads, footpaths and drainage. You will need:
- WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- Satisfactory National Police Certificate
- Industry "White" Card
- Experience in construction supervision or similar
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of road and drainage construction / maintenance techniques
- Experience in goods and services procurement
- Project management skills
