A family-owned company operating for more than 20 years, we are the number one manufacturer of flavoured cream cheese products supplying all major supermarkets and export markets. About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dandenong South. Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the successful applicant must be a qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician and have experience in the food manufacturing or similar industry.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of plant and equipment, including preventative maintenance activities to all equipment to ensure equipment is operational and available to meet production requirements of the business
- Diagnostic and fault-finding during breakdowns
- Perform final quality inspections and sign-off as required for goods leaving work area
- Complete quality checks and ensure that quality inspections are being completed as required
- New installations of equipment
- Continuous improvement and modifications to existing systems
- Perform breakdown, service support and repairs as required, including both Mechanical and Electrical.
- Provide emergency breakdown repairs by responding efficiently to breakdown conditions to minimise equipment down time
- Communicating extensively with key stakeholders: Operations, Planning and Senior management
- Ensuring OHS, Environmental and Quality compliance to an uncompromising level
To be successful, the ideal candidate will have the following Qualifications & Skills:
- Trade Qualified with a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a FMCG industry. Experience in the dairy industry will be highly regarded.
- Have a multidiscipline maintenance understanding including but not limited to electrical and mechanical
- Strong understanding of HACCP requirements
- Commitment to complying with company policies and procedures and relevant legislative requirements
- Highly effective communication and problem-solving skills to support the business’ continuous improvement programs
- Detail oriented, with excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Experience with and commitment to using MEX or similar CMMS systems.
- Methodical and can prioritise to ensure specific goals are achieved.
- Work autonomously with high motivation and enthusiasm to work effectively on Day shift
- Solid understanding of PLC controls
