THE ROLE
We are currently looking for a Workshop Supervisor, who is a practical and a proactive problem solver to join our Engineering Maintenance Team of 5 Fitters and 1 Boilermaker at Hume Masterpanel.
As a part of the maintenance team you will be involved with preventative and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of plant and equipment which include boilers, presses, paint lines, feeding and stacking automation and water treatment. We also have a steel section with a turret, laser, brake presses and various roll formers. There is also ongoing installation and commissioning work of various types of machinery.
We have a workshop with lathes, milling machine, shaper, radial and pedestal drills and welding/cutting equipment. This position will entail organisation of spare parts and consumables for the workshop and plant.
This is a full-time Salary position, working 5 days 8 hours (40 hour week)
Must also pass a drug and alcohol test
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise the workshop, working highly qualified trades;
- Prioritise work according to business requirements ensuring resources are available and used in a manner that promotes the greatest return on safety and production;
- Assign daily work tasks and manage team productivity;
- Actively seek out and contribute to maintenance improvement opportunities and initiatives;
- Ensure machinery downtime is minimised;
- Liaising with contractors when required;
- Preventative maintenance of sheet metal machinery (roll formers, Turret, brake presses etc);
- Ordering of spare parts; (we use Pronto software)
- Machinery installation;
- General building maintenance and repairs;
- Ordering and management of maintenance consumables;
- CPR/First Aid Certified
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Trade qualification and experience
- Pneumatics and hydraulics experience.
- Experience in breakdown maintenance within an automated plant.
- Roll forming maintenance experience.
- Ability to effectively diagnose faults with a methodical approach.
- Forklift Ticket and experience would be advantageous
- Must be able to read and follow drawings.
- Good planning, time management
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
