The Role:
Due to continued business expansion, we are on the lookout for a dedicated, reliable and hardworking, individual to join our team in the position of Makesafe Technician. You will utilise your construction knowledge and personable approach to home and business owners to provide Makesafe building services, carry out temporary emergency repairs to homes and businesses and provide peace of mind to clients in stressful situations. This is a diverse role where each day will be different from the last and the ability to think on the spot and solve problems is a must. This opportunity is used as a stepping stone into the business and successful past technicians have moved into Project Manager / Supervisor positions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend service calls with short notice
- Provide peace of mind to clients in stressful situations
- Conduct permanent & temporary repairs to homes & businesses
- Ensure standard of workmanship is above & beyond industry expectations
- Build relationships with subcontractors & clients
- Liaise with staff, insurance companies & councils
- Communicate details of repairs & any issues to head office
- Ensure all work conforms to legislative & contractual OHS requirements
- Travel across Newcastle
Do you have proven examples of demonstrating drive and energy? Are you extremely motivated and can think outside the box? Being able to demonstrate and highlight examples of these are the key criteria for you to be successful in joining our existing talented and passionate team. The following selection criteria is also important, but we are happy to teach and mentor you along the way.
- Experience on Insurance construction projects ideal, however not essential
- Trade qualified essential
- Personable & excellent communication skills
- Ability to establish mutually respectful relationships & be empathetic to the needs of the client
- Positive, honest & pro-active attitude
- Strong computer skills
- Current & valid motor vehicle licence
- Working with Children’s Check (can be obtained if successful)
- Current elevated work platform licence desirable
- Requirement to supply own basic hand tools, power tools & battery
