The role
Based on Melbourne, we are seeking an Management Accountant for a permanent position with an immediate start.
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this is a broad hands-on role. Your responsibilities will include preparation of monthly financial results - involving journal processing, reconciliation and report preparation. You will also be involved in budgeting, finance system projects and continuous improvement projects across the finance function.
To succeed in the role, you will want to learn the technical aspects of the job and importantly want to work in a team environment, contribute to the success of the team and business goals (and celebrate the success!) and make an impact through continuous improvement.
This would be a great opportunity if you’re looking to transition from a smaller business (or first step out of Chartered) to within a Corporate back-office function for a National business. You will have opportunities to develop financial analysis, modelling and presentation skills and work along side experienced leaders in a supportive team environment.
Experience you will bring:
- Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting (preferred)
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards) (preferred)
- At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar accounting role within a commercial environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Accountability to reporting deadlines.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in busy periods
- Intermediate Excel Skills (pivot tables / lookups)
