They require an experienced Management Accountant to join their team in Sydney.
About the role:
The role is reporting directly to the Finance Manager and is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining effective client relationships with the Company's retail business partners, with a focus on our direct retail partners, to ensure that our service model commitments exceed their expectations.
Key Responsibilities, tasks and duties:
Preparation of financial reports including annual financial statements, quarterly Group IFRS reporting & Solvency II reporting, local quarterly prudential reporting.
Forecasting and annual budget (P&L & Balance Sheet).
Management Expense analysis, cost allocation, budgeting and expense monitoring to support cost centre owners.
Maintain the integrity of financial data in the finance system (SAP General Ledger & Cash Matching modules), ensure that both Group and Local ledgers are maintained and balanced across Business areas.
Contribute to the development of business rules, service standards and work plans for financial management and provide key input into the evaluation of business performance.
Act as Asia-Pacific Business Service Co-ordinator and Key User for SAP General Ledger, liaising with the business, Parent Company, other Subsidiaries & Branch users as required.
Understand the key IFRS 17 accounting and disclosure requirements.
Work with the Financial Controller/Finance Manager as required on developing solutions for disclosures for financial statements.
Support the Finance team on new initiatives/projects as they arise.
Accountable for the effective identification and management of risk and compliance via the implementation of appropriate management policies and procedures.
To be considered you will need:
CPA or CA equivalent - Accounting qualification.
5+ years' experience in Life Insurance or Life Reinsurance industry.
Advanced Excel, Word skills.
Power BI skills advantageous.
SAP General Ledger system experience is advantageous.
APRA Connect/D2A Reporting advantageous.
