Job description

Reporting to the General Manager Mining, this role will provide expertise and guidance in continuous improvement and operational technology to our Meandu Mining team working as part of our One Team partnership with BUMA.

About the role

This is a Brisbane based role with weekly travel required to the Meandu Mine (Kingaroy region).

Reporting to the General Manager Mining, this role will provide expertise and guidance in continuous improvement and operational technology to our Meandu Mining team working as part of our One Team partnership with BUMA.

Key activities include:

  • You will lead the development, implementation and direction of the continuous improvement framework and programs for the mining operation.
  • You will lead a range of initiatives including the development, execution and operation of the mine’s technology roadmap using sound judgement and making decisions in a timely manner.
  • You will continue the transformation of the business into an exciting leading mining practise, leveraging emerging mining operational technologies, digital technologies and data analytics. 
  • Achieve outcomes through engagement and influencing with corporate based stakeholders and key stakeholders in contract partnerships.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technology or Business Management related discipline is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Mine site exposure with sound understanding of mining, processing, maintenance and safety operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and operation of continuous improvement processes, programs, cadences and routines.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of operational technology projects including mining technology, data analytics and digital technologies.
