The primary role of the Manager, Coroners Court is to lead theadministrative services of the Court, ensure effectiveinvestigations of reportable deaths and oversee the effectiveorganisation of inquests by providing strategic leadership,direction and management to a number of administrative staff andsenior professional practitioners.  The role is accountablefor meeting key performance targets, as well as managing humanresource procedures and financial delegations as agreed to with theState Coroner and the Director, Court Services.

The Manager, Coroners Court provides after-hours advice andpoint of contact pertaining to coronial matters and is theCourt’s principal administrative officer as defined by theCoroners Court Rules 2005.

Special Conditions:

The Manager Coroners Court is required to be available to form apart of a roster on-call arrangement to receive reports of deathsin custody and homicides, provide after-hours guidance andinformation to SAPOL officers and forensic pathologists andprogress requests for organ donations, including public holidays,for which an on-call allowance is paid.

The following special conditions apply to this position:

  • Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act, 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act, 2009.
  • Appointment is dependent upon a current satisfactory National Police Certificate.
  • As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
  • Appointees may be directed to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.
  • May be required to work outside of the normal hours of work and travel interstate (with overnight absences).
  • May be assigned alternative duties/roles or to alternative locations within the CAA if required by the State Courts Administrator.
  • Hold a current South Australian Driver’s Licence and be willing to drive if required.

MAS3 ($125,970 per annum)
