The Role
As a member of the Finance and Business Support senior management team, the Manager - Cost Accounting will:
- Provide high level strategic advice and support in relation to the financial implications of contracts, agreements, proposals and initiatives to inform Agency Executives and the Minister.
- Provide technical advice and support in relation to financial modelling to inform Whole of Agency and Department of Health (DoH) contract and agreement negotiation processes, including negotiations in relation to Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA), compensable services and the National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA).
- Develop and implement financial allocation models and policies to inform budgetary processes and promote financial efficiency and sustainability throughout the Agency.
- Provide high level advice and support in relation to the development, maintenance and improvement of financial systems and processes.
- Lead the Cost Accounting Section in becoming a best practice environment.

The Cost Accounting team:
- Provides costing services and advice across the Department of Health
- Has a primary focus on project work providing advice on business cases, contracts and agreements
- Provides an opportunity to influence business decisions and outcomes to drive efficiency across the organisation
Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Classification:
Salary: $135,408 - $144,527per annum + 11% superannuation
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, together with membership of either CPA Australia or the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
