Job description

About the role:

In this role, your primary reponsiblity will be to support the joint work of Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners to implement the Victorian Traditional Owner Cultural Fire Strategy on the parks estate.

You will be a driven professional with experience in leading state-wide or regional land management programs, the provision of specialist advice and high level judgement skills when problem solving. This role seeks a highly effective communicator who is capable of engaging Traditional Owners about their Cultural Fire objectives, working with key internal stakeholders and collaborating with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action to develop an effective roadmap for success.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated high level experience in engagement and partnership-building with Traditional Owners groups
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in natural resource, land and fire management in Victoria, including working knowledge of fire and conservation management processes
  • An ability to provide strategic, timely and accurate advice in relation to complex or sensitive issues
