Job description

Our Cybersecurity & Digital Trust team is helping to build a secure digital society to keep our economy and businesses protected from cyber security threats. From governments to multinational corporations, we work with business leaders to solve their most complex problems and collaborate with them to improve their cyber resilience. Committed to technical excellence as a team, we have frequent knowledge sharing, opportunities for collaborative engagements with our Offensive Security and Cloud Architecture teams, regular threat intelligence briefings, attending industry conferences, ongoing training, and development via our cyber academy and external paid certifications. We're looking for a manager to join our team to help lead our incident readiness, response, and recovery services. Use the know-how you've gained in responding to cyber security incidents to lead others to do the same, and capture and pass on the lessons from your experiences. With new problems to solve, you’ll have plenty of support and opportunities to grow. We work with clients and teams across Australia and the region, so your strong communication skills and team ethos will get a workout. You'll learn plenty as you supervise key engagements in a workplace that’s human-led and tech-enabled.

What will you create?

Cybersecurity & digital trust helps Australian organisations by securing their digital future and developing the nation's leading cybersecurity workforce. (Location flexible: Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane/Perth)

As a Manager in our Defensive Security team your impact will be seen by:

  • Leading a team of specialists to deliver our Incident Response, post-incident review, incident readiness, and threat hunting services.

  • Leveraging your technical skill set to deliver high quality outcomes to clients, through a combination of hands-on delivery, leading the development of presentations and reports, and providing regular technical leadership and coaching to more junior members of the team

  • Provide technical leadership to help nurture and develop the next generation of Australia’s cyber practitioners.

  • Contributing to the development of our service offerings and internal tools within the Incident Response and threat hunting capability

  • Proactively identifying strategic opportunities to create new, or optimise existing, Defensive Security services or capabilities (e.g. development of new methodologies, identification of new technical service offerings). Taking ownership and accountability to deliver, leveraging the broader team as required to ensure success.

About you

You have a background in leading DFIR teams and articulating the nature and value of blue team capabilities and activities to stakeholders.  You have a strong grasp of technical/business style writing and have the ability to train and lead junior members including providing technical leadership. You may hold key security related certifications such as GIAC GCIA / GCIH, or applicable vendor certifications with major cloud service providers or Incident Response product vendors.

Passionate about being at the forefront of change, you’re ready to help our Assurance team deliver practical advice that speaks straight to the heart of client business issues and deliver innovative results.

You’re collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment. You’re a problem solver by nature and want to join a firm that values the kind of people who reimagine the possible for their clients and stakeholders. Most importantly, you act with integrity and show care for the people you work with.

We’ll give you a career-boosting role that:

  • Helps you learn and grow with our cyber academy, and study support.

  • Has competitive and transparent salary packages with the opportunity for yearly bonuses and promotions

  • Is strong on growth and reward

  • Provides strong mentors, meaningful work and plenty of networking opportunities

  • Gives you the chance to explore, with overseas secondments and our Together Anywhere policy that lets you work up to 4 weeks from anywhere in Australia

  • Helps you prioritise your life outside of work, with lifestyle and wellness stipends up to $500 a year

We're an inclusive bunch, and we try to make life easier - for our clients, our teams and our communities. If you need reasonable adjustments when applying, just let us know.

Jaimie Bonehill is the Recruitment Manager for the role. As the team experiences high volumes of applications, we appreciate your patience to allow for a timely and fair process for all.
