PSP are proud to be exclusively recruiting a Manager Economic Development and Visitor Economy (Senior Officer) position on behalf of Baw Baw Shire Council. Reporting directly to the Director Economic Development, Arts and Advocacy, the role’s key positions objectives include:
- Develop and implement high level and integrated economic, tourism and investment strategies,
- Strategic business planning for diverse economic and tourism development programs,
- Lead new and innovative programs in Economic Development and tourism,
- Manage the Development and delivery of Council and Community led events,
- Work with key stakeholders across Council, Industry Bodies, Government, and the Community to drive programs,
- Identify and secure external funding that supports Councils initiatives and key projects,
- Represent Council on advisory committee and other relevant industry bodies and events,
- Provide effective people leadership and management to the team,
- Oversee the department budget and fiscal responsibility for the business unit and more…
- Degree or Diploma in Economic Development, Tourism and/or Business Commerce,
- Well-developed understanding of the ‘role’ and extensive experience in Local Government/Council,
- Proven success in senior strategic tourism, events and/or wider visitors economy and experience roles,
- Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management of staff and resources,
- Highly developed communication, problem solving, negotiation and influencing skills,
- Local Government probity checks including WWC, and valid driver’s licence will be required.
