About Us:
The Department of Education (DoE) remains steadfast in its commitment to providing all children with a strong start and cultivating safe, inclusive workplaces to bolster Queensland's prosperity. We are currently seeking exceptional leaders to join our team as Manager within the industrial relations portfolio of the Integrity, and Employee Relations Unit. The industrial relations function in the DoE is divided into two streams: an Employee relations team and an Enterprise Bargaining team. DoE is seeking exceptional strategic leaders to support these high-performing teams.
About the Role:
We have two permanent Manager positions currently vacant.
Manager - Employee Relations, Integrity, and Employee Relations UnitIn addition to offering expert advice and supervising your team, you'll lead consultations and negotiations with stakeholders, representing DoE in high-level discussions. Your role extends to providing strategic direction for advocacy services and ensuring representation in key conferences, hearings, and tribunals, including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. With initiative and drive, you'll navigate complex employee and industrial relations scenarios, driving positive outcomes. Your advocacy will shape policies and practices, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements while fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
Manager - Enterprise Bargaining, Integrity, and Employee Relations UnitYour expertise in enterprise bargaining and technical proficiency will be invaluable. As a subject matter expert, you'll interpret legislation and industrial instruments with precision. Your role will involve leading project teams across the full bargaining cycle (from the initiation, negotiation and the implementation phase), overseeing initiatives, and coordinating the development of bargaining strategies. Your role requires technical adeptness in navigating intricate industrial and Employee Relations frameworks. Your expertise in enterprise bargaining and legislation interpretation will guide decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your leadership will be assessed based on strategic thinking, change management, and talent development. Building enduring relationships, inspiring others, and driving accountability are essential. Fostering healthy workplaces, pursuing growth, and demonstrating sound governance are crucial. To excel in this position, a profound level of professional proficiency and substantial experience in Employee Relations is essential, particularly in navigating intricate industrial matters. You must have exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to provide authoritative advice to a range of stakeholders and you will uphold the Public Sector Act 2022 work performance and personal conduct principles and comply with all relevant laws, industrial instruments, and directives.
