The role
Reporting to the Director, Finance Business Partnering. Your role provides financial based leadership, advice, and support to the Deputy Director General, Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance Division, and the Executive Director, Contracting and Performance Management Branch on significant funding allocations and movements to support high quality, safe and sustainable health services across Queensland.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and management at a strategic level within a service delivery organisation involving multi-disciplinary purchasing budgets across diverse work units in a large and complex organisation.
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of complying to financial management legislation including Australian Accounting Standards, and strong demonstrated experience in implementing integrated reporting arrangements to ensure that Queensland Health discharges its responsibilities.
Coordinate the establishment and management of integrated performance solutions that provide the platform for effective performance analysis of the Purchasing Pool for the Department.
- Support HPSP to review relevant funding optimisation strategies and support, promote and communicate these processes with respect to financial performance against HHS Service Agreements.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal competence, including a proven ability to negotiate, resolve conflict and positively influence and motivate others in a significant environment of reform and change.
- Strong demonstrated experience in the areas of financial planning, resource allocation, and budget management, to support monitoring, and performance feedback for decision makers to detect issue early, make timely interventions and enhance resource allocations.
- Proven issue identification, analytical and research skills, problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive and practical solutions and provide expert strategic advice to complex issues.
- Experience in managing in an environment of the financial pressures and constraints that impact service delivery and the capacity to recommend courses of action which achieve optimal outcomes within those constraints.
