NSLHD is looking for a leader who is interested influencing stakeholders, ensuring consistency in Injury Management across the district and embedding a culture of continuous improvement to improve WC and Injury management results and the experience of our workers on workplace rehabilitation programs.

What you'll be doing
The role is responsible for overseeing and managing the workers compensation and Injury Management program and general insurances within NSLHD. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to minimize the impact of workplace injuries and illnesses, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies, and providing expert advice and support to senior managers, staff and stakeholders, to achieve positive outcomes for injured workers and the organisation.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated extensive working knowledge and application of workers compensation legislation as well as NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority Guidelines for Workplace Return to Work Programs.
- Proven experience at a senior level leading a Workers Compensation/ Injury Management team that includes financial and administrative services in relation to payroll function, with proven ability to accurately calculate and balance, for accounting purposes, the wages paid (PIAWE) and cheques received under Workers Compensation and general insurances.
- Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills to determine the direction for case Management and legal claims, contributing to the strategic direction of the organisation.
- Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication for senior audiences, such as Executive and Board, with negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills, and experience in providing expert advice to managers and employees on all aspects of claims and Injury Management.
