In this role you will oversee contractual and support arrangements for our core Intelligent Transport System (ITS) platform and manage the administration of this and other core ITS applications and provide ownership and direction for the core ITS network.

- Identify and manage stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
- Guide the team with investigations and resolution of complex technical issues regarding ITS networking and the operation of the ITS system improving overall performance and ensuring value for money.
- Oversee availability of the core ITS applications and network, and lead business direction with respect to hosting and networking matters.
- Oversee the management of South-East Queensland ITS applications and ITS core and field network and provide guidance relating to ITS applications (STREAMS and FLIR) and core ITS network.
- Manage contractual and support arrangements relating to core ITS application-STREAMS and ITS network services.
- Liaise with vendors and key stakeholders in defining technical requirements, understanding user needs, and managing change activities relating to the ITS environment.
- Actively support the Leadership Team, contributing to strategic decisions to advance and optimise the state-wide road network operations, to facilitate the delivery of the branch's objectives and the department's strategic priorities.
- Support and encourage effective teamwork by fostering a positive working which exemplifies professionalism in performance, integrity and respect for people while building team capability by sharing learning and mentoring and coaching other staff.
- Training or experience in:
ITIL or other system management
Program and Project Management in an Information Technology context.
- Demonstrated experience managing Intelligent Transport Systems environments.
- Strong agility to adapt to constantly changing complex environments with a strong achievement orientation.
- Sets high goals for personal and team accomplishment; uses measurement methods to monitor progress toward goals and works to meet or exceed goals.
- Uses appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to build, inspire, and guide a cohesive team to complete team goals, generating novel solutions with measurable value for customers.
- Identifies challenges and positively influences delivery strategies and processes to ensure program and project delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions to a variety of audiences and to gain commitment from key stakeholders to support ideas or take action.
- Proactively builds long-term working relationships with partners and key stakeholders to promote departmental and operational goals and achieve successful outcomes for stakeholders.
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Criminal history screening will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
