An exciting opportunity has opened with nbn to join the team as a Manager Network Engineering Delivery reporting into the Lead Delivery Manager Network Engineering. You will be joining a large engineering team (100+ engineers), that is responsible for delivering new network capabilities, following scaled agile practices.
A bit about your role
As the Manager, Network Engineering Delivery (FTTX); you will work as as network engineering lead and will be accountable for the delivery of network capabilities within a network domain and perform the in the delivery and deployment of network capabilities within an agile team. Monitor technical delivery and support activities from an efficiency and quality stand-point and take interventional steps where performance is not to the required level. You will drive delivery to commitments and encourage network development practises. Utilising your technical expertise, you will also participate in delivery activities as part of the team. Provide communication point into the agile team for delivery and technical matters and you will be the prime escalation point for delivery and technical issues within the agile team.
You will perform as a Scrum Master, a servant leadership role for the agile team to enable them to self-organize, self-manage, and drive continuous improvement via effective Lean-Agile practices. You will facilitate regular team ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, iteration planning, team demo and iteration retrospective, facilitate readiness for PI planning and other service team events and educate and coach the team in agile practices. You will also help team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; thereby assisting the team in meeting their delivery goals. Promote continuous learning and professional development amongst team members and ensure team-based performance metrics are captured and used for reporting and continuous improvement purposes
As a people leader, you will perform individual professional development support including training advise and perform performance management of individuals including goal setting and feedback and compensation reviews, Manage the recruitment and onboarding activities of new starters and act as general escalation point for direct reports.
A bit about you
To be successful in this role, you have demonstrated a strong experience in network engineering within the Telecoms industry and a strong background in team and people management, delivery management and a deep technical knowledge in an area in network capability delivery and/or operations aligned to the technology area.
You have relevant network technical experience in design project delivery and the delivery and/or operations of network capabilities and in leading and managing teams in a network environment.
You have successfully experienced working with teams in an agile environment using Scrum or other agile practices to deliver outcomes and an experience in development which require good version control standards, network design and validation.
