ABOUT THE ROLE

The Ngalla Wirrin Wungening (NWW) Manager oversees delivery of the NWW (Our Spirit Healing) model.

This service delivers alcohol and other drug healing practices, through:

  • Aboriginal Ways
  • Flexible Services
  • Authentic Connections

People are supported in the context of complex social determinants of health that impact Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in their, and their families, daily lives.

The NWW Manager ensures effective service delivery of the Ngalla Wirrin Wungening Healing Journey across all contracted services. Key to the success of this role will be the collaborative and shared responsibility approach taken by the NWW Manager to deliver NWW with NWW Leadership Team (Coordinator and Alliance Coordinator roles).

Key tasks related to the delivery of NWW include:

  • Ensuring capability needs of the service are met through effective employee engagement strategies.
  • Supporting the NWW Leadership Team to deliver service excellence at place-based hubs.
  • Managing NWW Leadership Team in accordance with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Providing supervision to the NWW Leadership Team and regular whole of NWW Team meetings.
  • Driving continuous quality improvement across the NWW Team.
  • Supporting an integrated shared care approach across Wungening services.
  • Being proactive to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Including creating regular opportunities for client compliments, complaints, and suggestions and where appropriate coordinated shared care arrangements for shared clients.

Additionally, the NWW Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of Wungening practice responsibilities in all Alliance partnerships.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Relevant experience including a Strong Spirit Strong Mind qualification and/or Alcohol and other Drug related qualification.
  • Relevant experience in service management and supervisory roles.
  • Passion to deliver the Ngalla Wirrin Wungening model of service delivery.
  • Ability to manage, lead and be part of a team to deliver a high-quality healing service.
  • Commitment to put in place a process of tracking performance against key performance indicators and contracts. 
  • Commitment to support the learning, development, and practice needs of individuals and a team. 
  • Proven ability to achieve the responsibilities as outlined in this job description. 
  • Commitment to providing AOD services in a culturally strong and safe way.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and respect for Aboriginal culture, protocols, and boundaries. 
  • Knowledge of challenges and services from an AOD context. 
  • Commitment to managing to key performance indicators and service outcomes. 
  • Developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Teams. 
  • Experience developing, collecting, and analysing data as it relates to performance.
