Civil Engineers As a Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of our road infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for conducting site assessments, developing engineering plans and specifications, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring project compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
Project Managers Our Project Managers will lead cross-functional teams to successfully deliver road construction and maintenance projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities include project planning, resource allocation, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
Asphalt Works Specialists Asphalt Works Specialists will manage all aspects of our asphalt production and paving operations. This includes operating asphalt plants, coordinating material deliveries, supervising paving crews, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Plant Operators Plant Operators will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of our heavy machinery and equipment, such as excavators, graders, rollers, and pavers. You will work closely with the construction teams to execute site preparation, earthworks, and road surfacing activities.

This is a crucial leadership role where you'll be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and maintenance of the Shire's extensive rural infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Procure major works plant and equipment in conjunction with the Procurement Coordinator
Contribute to the Shire's strategic infrastructure planning and asset management
Liaise with contractors, indigenous and mining communities to develop cooperative relationships
Prepare council reports, technical data, and other documentation within your area of responsibility
Inspect infrastructure assets and manage flood damage claims/disaster recovery
Plan, implement, and manage major works and civil infrastructure maintenance projects
Manage municipal infrastructure activities including budgeting, contracts, and cost reporting
Provide expert technical advice and guidance on infrastructure management matters
Plan and supervise the scheduling of infrastructure maintenance works and staff
Participate in and manage regional infrastructure programs (e.g., Roads to Recovery)
Manage the Shire's road network access and assess restricted access vehicle applications
Effectively manage infrastructure resources, budgets, and financial requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and substantial management experience
Extensive knowledge of civil works including road/drainage construction, project management, contract management, and asset management
Demonstrated experience in program development, project management, fleet management, and resource allocation
Proven ability to effectively lead and manage a multi-skilled, culturally diverse workforce
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
Highly developed leadership skills with a focus on performance, culture, and strategic alignment
Conflict resolution, problem-solving, and customer service skills
