About the role
Reporting to the Head of Operational Readiness, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects within Mining Services are fully prepared for seamless transition into full-scale operations. This requires a strong generalist knowledge and experience across various facets of mining and resources operations, including engineering, asset management, operations, maintenance, commissioning, ramp-up, and project management.
The role is based at our Osborne Park head offices, working Monday-Friday, with infrequent site travel as required.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including project teams, operations leaders, and external partners, to build strong working relationships and alignment across all operational areas.
- Effectively communicate Operational Readiness progress and issues to stakeholders, utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills honed through extensive operational experience.
- Develop and execute comprehensive Operational Readiness plans for major projects, encompassing all stages from commissioning to ramp-up.
- Ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards, leveraging expertise in engineering, asset management, and project management.
- Lead the integration of Operational Readiness activities into project planning and execution, utilizing extensive experience across mining and resources operations.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to identify and address Operational Readiness considerations across all operational domains.
- Oversee the advanced stages of commissioning, including the transition from construction completion into commissioning, ensuring seamless handover and integration of operational systems.
- Collaborate closely with commissioning teams to facilitate the execution of commissioning activities in alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Ensure effective coordination between construction, commissioning, and operational teams to minimize disruptions and optimize project outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement within Operational Readiness practices, leveraging insights from diverse operational backgrounds.
- Provide strong leadership to the Operational Readiness team, fostering a sense of purpose and commitment grounded in a deep understanding of mining and resources operations.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Tertiary Qualification (trade or higher qualifications) in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent field experience
- Good understanding of Asset Management and CMMS systems
- Knowledge of mining fixed plant, mobile and ancillary equipment
- Project Management understanding and experience
