Accountabilities include:
- Leading the local Translink team, managing finances, teams, resources, people capabilities and issues, relevant to passenger transport operations, encouraging efficiency, innovation and business improvement, in delivering agreed outcomes;
- Deliver expert customer service and provide advice and feedback to stakeholders on legislation, policy and operational delivery;
- Provide effective and efficient frontline customer service for the general public including a full range of counter services for passenger and school transport products;
- Participate in the development, implementation and delivery of operational business plans for the local and regional areas, contributing to passenger transport network plans, passenger transport infrastructure delivery, and service contract negotiations;
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, to achieve state-wide consistency in organisational service delivery and products, promoting whole of government outcomes where possible;
- Develop and maintain strategic alliances and effective relationships with external stakeholders and clients to deliver passenger transport outcomes for the community;
- Act as the regulator, promoting compliance with the relevant passenger transport and vehicle safety legislation and standards, providing education, guidance and assistance to the passenger transport industry, and initiating enforcement action as required;
- Oversight of the delivery of the School Transport Assistance Scheme at a local level;
- Liaise with Departmental Transport Inspectors and assist in compliance planning, activities and investigations by working collaboratively to deliver joint initiatives that enhance passenger safety and improves compliance;
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships with industry stakeholders, effectively managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, and complaints and undertaking performance discussions with operators as required;
- Manage passenger transport service contracts to ensure the delivery of outcomes in line with objectives, monitoring performance and compliance in accordance with the contract, relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures;
- Engage with community stakeholders, transport operators and other agencies to reduce the negative effects of transport disadvantage, by exploring and promoting innovative, flexible and relevant local solutions for transport problems, and provide related advice to TransLink management teams;
- Proactively contact and update relevant service partners and stakeholders in relation to the management and reporting of significant events, natural disasters and other emergency situations.
