Come and lead the critical functions of Work Health and Safety, HR Operations, Industrial and Employee Relations, Recruitment, and Learning and Development. This role keeps the LOVE LISMORE spirit alive by leading the health and wellbeing of our people and employee experiences that connect and celebrate our employees. The role will work closely with members of the Executive Leadership and Senior Leadership teams to provide expert advice, guidance, and support.
You'll be working in a permanent full-time role primarily based at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.

- Shape strategy and culture throughout a large organisation covering a cross-section of unique environments from field and remote locations and office environments.
- You are an influential leader with a true passion for enabling a holistic culture of psychological and physical wellbeing throughout an organisation
- Drive the development and implementation of policy, procedures, processes and systems that align with the strategic direction of the People and Culture function.
- Review and advise on proposals and infrastructure projects to ensure Council is an enabler of planning approvals.
- Proven capability to lead transformational change and develop a positive, well performing organisational culture.
- Lead the teams to continuously identify, analyse and evaluate key issues, and recommend innovative options, solutions, practices, and processes to enable streamline processes and timely responses to customer enquiries.
- Build the reputation of Council’s People and Culture Department who is a respected and a valued collaborator with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the operations and delivery of functions for the People and Culture team.
- Actively utilising your thorough understanding and practical application of statutory requirements of various Acts, regulations and guidelines
- Proven experience in the leadership and development of our people by inspiring, empowering, coaching and influencing
- Proven experience in shaping organisational culture at multiple levels, embedding a culture of well-being and safety across all environments.
- Ability to create an environment in which innovative, efficient and effective ways to meet customers’ needs are generated by colleagues and other organisational stakeholders.
- Maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including our employees, leaders, Council and unions.

The role is full-time based on a 35-hour week, however excellent flexibility is offered.
