Job description
As our Manager, Planning and Quality Management, you will:
Lead and manage the Planning and Quality Management team of the National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program (the Program) and provide direction on operational planning, job creation and allocation and Quality assurance.
Provide specialist, high level advice to the Director and Program senior leadership team on operational risk management, operational efficiency and performance, to address the identified issues.
Develop comprehensive plans and schedules to guide when, where and how treatment and surveillance undertaken by the Program will occur.
Manage workforce performance and provide accurate reporting, forecasting and advice on operational resources and activities to ensure accountable public service administration.
Devise and manage complex and sensitive eradication planning projects, research, and analysis.
Monitor and evaluate treatment and surveillance activities undertaken by the Program to ensure that targeted areas have received the planned levels of activity required to achieve fire ant eradication.
Assess and oversee the updating and maintenance of procedures and protocols and their implementation to ensure that eradication techniques and tools have been applied correctly.
Recommend adaptive solutions for new fire ant infestations, ensuring scientific and budgetary feasibility of eradication.
Establish effective governance systems to monitor progress to manage existing and emerging risks to the achievement of program outcomes, e.g. rectifying treatment gaps.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to analyse operational data and intelligence, scientific based research, and technical and international best practice to inform operational plan development.
Work with the Program management team to build an effective organisation and foster a work environment that values individual and team performance and continuous improvement and innovation.
