A unique opportunity awaits you at Suncorp within our Legal & Secretariat (L&S) team as a Legal Strategic Partnerships Manager, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our strategy. We're on the lookout for a proactive individual with a talent for building and maintaining Strategic Partnerships to drive efficiency and effectiveness within our legal operations. By spearheading initiatives to optimize our Strategic Partnerships, you'll not only help manage external legal expenditure for the Suncorp Group but also contribute to the development of our function's operational blueprint. What you'll do
- Support the Legal Leadership Team in developing and executing a strategy to ensure the most efficient and effective use of L&S strategic partners, including panel law firms and legal reference providers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external strategic partners, including acting as the key Suncorp contact, completing periodic review meetings to enable two-way feedback discussions
- Partner with the business to facilitate the engagement of strategic partners who provide effective, efficient, and value-for-money services
- Actively identify matters which have the potential to significantly impact the Group's interest and brief the Executive Officer, L&S as appropriate
- Represent the Suncorp Group in negotiations with L&S strategic partners, where appropriate
- Champion a customer and continuous improvement focus and actively identify areas to optimize the value of trusted partner arrangements with L&S strategic partners and L&S operations
What you'll bring
- 10+ years previous relevant legal experience
- Experience in the financial services industry, ideally insurance
- Strong organisational skills to manage a wide range of responsibilities
- Take an active role in complex negotiations and demonstrate a broad business perspective in conflict resolution
- Demonstrates high ethical standards and integrity in all working relationships including being able to maintain strict confidentiality when required
- Leadership experience highly desired
