It could hardly be a better time to be joining as the Manager of Strategic Procurement.
The City has an operating budget for 2023/2024 of circa $297 million and a capital expenditure budget for this year of $59 million. The position reports to the General Manager of Corporate Services and is accountable for leading the City’s procurement function and team, with a focus on:
- Driving excellence and innovation in STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT and sourcing.
- Creating and defining organisation wide approaches for category, contractor and supplier management and performance.
- Supply chain strategy and delivering business value solutions.
- Procurement oversight, governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Providing education and awareness programs across the organization.
Intending applicants are expected to bring significant ability operating both strategically and commercially in procurement. You should have exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with proven ability to work effectively at all levels of a large and sophisticated organisation. Previous experience leading and managing a professional procurement function is essential. The person appointed must bring an unwavering commitment to governance, compliance, and risk management in procurement.
The position is offered on the basis of a 5-year contract of employment with a base salary in the range of $165,000-$175,000 plus 11% superannuation plus other benefits.
