About This Opportunity
We are seeking a diligent, highly organised and experienced Manager, Student and Academic Administration to join our world-class Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences. In this role you will provide leadership and management of Student and Academic Administration activities and provide ongoing training and support to faculty and school-based staff in the management of processes associated with Student and Academic Administration and the effective use of relevant corporate systems.
As the Manager, Student and Academic Administration you will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the team in delivering high quality, timely and accurate Student and Academic support services, as well as taking an active role in the development of individual staff. You will also be responsible for providing specialist advice and assistance to the Senior Manager, Academic Services and the Associate Dean (Academic) on complex Student and policy matters and contribute to the development and delivery of academic programs within the Faculty.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months commencing ASAP at HEW level 8.
For candidates external to the university, this role offers a high-level, short-term opportunity to join one of Australia’s leading universities. For current UQ staff members, this is an ideal secondment opportunity to upskill and/or gain valuable experience with a varied portfolio of Schools and Centres within the Faculty. Please note any secondment arrangement would require approval from current management.
At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $106,838 - $119,780, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $125,000 - $140,143 annually.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess:
A postgraduate qualification with relevant experience or a combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training in academic and student administration.
Highly developed leadership and management skills and the ability to manage staff in a service-orientated environment.
Substantial, demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of university rules, policies and procedures relating to Student and Academic Administration including student admission, enrolment, examination, and graduation.
Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including analysing information and data critically, and report writing.
Highly developed interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills needed to develop and maintain strong working relationships within the Faculty, and the wider University community.
Demonstrated high level organisational ability, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Proven capacity to deliver high quality customer service in a fast paced and high-volume office environment.
It would be advantageous for you to possess:
Experience in participating on university committees.
Demonstrated capacity for identification and analysis of issues, innovative problem solving and improvement of administrative systems and procedures.
