The crew is made up of several teams covering systems, reporting, modelling, valuations, and Credit Strategy.See yourself in our Team:The Unsecured Credit Strategy team is responsible for the development and maintenance of Credit Strategy, monitoring and proactively managing credit settings. The team ensures that strategies not only manage risk but work effectively across operational areas. We work with external partners including credit bureau to optimise the coverage, quality, and security of the Consumer Finance portfolios. This team plays a critical part in managing the retail Consumer Finance portfolio to ensure appropriate risk/return for the portfolio.Your impact & contribution:This role is responsible for the design, development, monitoring and implementation of end-to-end credit strategies across all aspects of the Credit Card and Personal Loan life cycle. The role will support management in the identification, development and implementation of tools that can be used to grow our business within risk appetite. This will include providing analytics to support these changes and following the change management process to implement system changes.Your responsibilities:
- Support management in the identification, development and implementation of tools and strategies to effectively manage credit risk.
- Provide proactive input on the development of tools and strategies that includes actively looking to identify opportunities to add value.
- Produce analytics to identify risks using Customer data, ensuring quality of the highest standard.
- Provide commentary on observations and insights, ensuring quality of the highest standard.
- Data extraction and analysis, including reporting and providing insights.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to key business stakeholders (includes Product, Operations and Risk).
- Use industry insights and customer feedback (both internal and external) to help develop strategies to mitigate risks and realise opportunities to improve policies, process, and strategies.
- Build and leverage strong relationships with stakeholders to deepen market and customer insight.
- Support issue remediation & regulatory requests; the entire Consumer Finance team supports issue remediation and regulatory response.
- A background in Credit Risk and/or Analytics, with a Financial Services organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in using data manipulation and statistical analysis tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Tableau) to convert data sets into easily consumable, insightful reports and business recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience using data to derive, justify and implement strategy optimisation.
- Analytical, strategic, and a forward-thinking creative-problem solver, highly capable of working proactively within a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously while navigating through ambiguity.
- Sound business acumen supplementing excellent communication skills and an appreciation of the importance of positive customer experiences.
- Degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Maths, Actuarial studies, Engineering or Science) is preferred.
