The Small Business Mentoring Service Inc (SBMS) is a Not For Profit (NFP) organisation that is dedicated to assisting Small Business across Australia. SBMS is administered by a dedicated support team that engages with over 100 Member Mentors who deliver customised mentor programs tailored to the respective needs of Mentees. The aim is to assist in making small business across Australia economically strong and operational successful by providing experiential based support programs. We are looking for an experienced Managing Director to lead all business operations, people, and future programs. The MD reporting to the SBMS Chair will be a strategist leader able to steer the organisation to continued sustainable growth direction while adhering to the intrinsic vision, mission and long-term goals.
Qualifications & experience
- Strong marketing, sales, and organizational management skills
- Established contacts within Federal and State bodies, organizations, and the small business (SME) community an advantage
- Excellence in digital marketing campaigns with a history of success
- Experience in general management with a hands-on, proactive approach to work.
- Ability to relate to the diverse range of mentors with an array of business expertise within the SBMS network
Tasks & responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Align organizational strategy: Mission, Vision, Organizational Values and Economic viability proposition of SBMS.
- Provide inspiring leadership to stakeholders: Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of high-quality mentoring and affiliated services, approved by the Board, to benefit small businesses across Australia.
- Maintain SBMS's reputation and brand as highly regarded within the small business community.
- Organisational Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial, ethical, safety, and privacy protocols, as well as employment principles
- Manage dynamic budget preparation and other duties assigned by the Chair.
- Drive sustainable financial outcomes, securing grants, funding sources, and partnerships to support SBMS's mission
- Maintain and enhance SBMS's equity and cash position
- Maintain a positive quarterly cash flow for working capital accounts per Bank Statements for the organisation
