The Roleâ¯
The Mandarin TV News Bulletin is broadcast Monday to Friday as part of our News and Current Affairs department.â¯
This Sydney-based role reports to the Senior Production Manager, NACA Digital & In-Language TV News and is responsible for providing production support including operating Autocue using Mandarin scripts for Mandarin TV News.
Theâ¯Mandarin TV News team is part of our News and Current Affairs department. The team also collaborates with our existing Mandarin team working in the Audio Language and Content division currently focused on radio, online and social input only.
Applicantsâ¯shouldâ¯be ready to do shift work, typically Monday to Friday 5pm to 9pm.
About youâ¯
We are lookingâ¯for peopleâ¯who ideally have:â¯
- Strong production administration experience
- Proficiency in written and spoken English as well as Broadcast Mandarin are essential.
- Demonstratedâ¯understanding of the Mandarin-speaking communities in Australia.
- Demonstrated computerâ¯skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook and experience with or training in digital media editing/production software.
- Proven ability to work under pressure,â¯meeting strict timelines.â¯
- Demonstrated ability toâ¯build andâ¯maintain relationships with a range of stakeholdersâ¯internally and externally.â¯â¯
The role would suit Mandarin speaking students studying Media / Communications with an enthusiasm to learn more about broadcast television.
You must have ongoing working rights in Australia.â¯SBS is not in a position to be able to provide sponsorship for this role.
