ABOUT THE BUSINESS

MFE is an adaptive and progressive business, specialising in site maintenance, fabrication and project management, predominately within the mining and energy sector. 

We are seeking to recruit the position of Manufacturing Coordinator. This position will be based in Toowoomba, with some possible travel to client work sites when required and will report to the Workshop Manager.

THE OPPORTUNITY

To be a successful candidate for this role, you will need to be able to draw upon experience in the heavy manufacturing industry, along with a high degree of competence regarding computers and technology. An engineering trade (Mechanical or Fabrication), or relevant previous experience, will be highly beneficial. 

In addition, you will need fantastic relationship management skills to develop robust, trusting and long-term client relationships and intercompany relationships. Your ability to deliver your detailed workings to clients, both internal and external, will be pivotal in building trust between client and contractor. You will have an active involvement in the delivery of the businesses growth and return on investment KPI’s, and opportunities to increase your training and education with potential to take on project management capabilities.

THE ROLE

  • Analyze and interpret technical fabrication drawings/documents
  • Create and estimate fabrication jobs
  • Compile material take-offs.
  • Ordering, tracking and receipting of materials.
  • Organising external services and subcontractors
  • Workshop and project support tasks
  • Creation of job pack including safety and quality documents (weld maps, ITPs, dimensional checks)
  • Scheduling labour, equipment and parts to meet due dates
  • Working with the workshop floor supervisor to ensure schedules are met
  • Liaise with clients regarding estimations and tender submissions.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience in Heavy Industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of technical drawings. 
  • Strong organisational skills along with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated stakeholder relationship building capabilities.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in business software.
  • Demonstrated experience in organisation, coordination and the execution of fabrication tasks understanding welding procedures and standards
