About the Opportunity

We have Multiple Opportunities from intermediate to senior level Manufacturing Engineers across the Build Strategy, Installation & Integration, and Production Design Teams to join our Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Delivery Lead. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for providing professional engineering technical and operational support that is accurate, safe, on-time, and on-budget to support project and task activities within the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Support the development and validation of the overall Build Strategy plan
  • Support, develop, and validate key compartment installation plans
  • Develop installation and integration plans for key platform and combat equipment and systems
  • Support the design and fabrication of key production enabling products required at the shop floor
  • Act as an engineering technical liaison between Engineering and Production
  • Provide engineering support to mature the build strategy plan, the manufacturing plan, and other deliverables as required
  • Support the validation and improvement of manufacturing processes and systems
  • Ensure compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating risks and improving overall SHE performance
About You

Experience within an electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, production engineering, or field engineering environment. Experience within the naval shipbuilding, maritime sustainment, or industrial production engineering capacity. Considerable and demonstrated trade experience within the naval shipbuilding or naval maritime sustainment environment will be considered in lieu of this. Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality, and cost. Good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with engineers and production personnel within the project. Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
