Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) actively works with individuals and organisations to reinforce compliant behaviour and change inappropriate behaviours.
As a Marine Officer Grade 3, you will play an important role and will have the chance to fulfil a variety of functions that will involve engaging with our stakeholders and seeking to foster an attitude of safe boating, assisting with the provisions of services that will allow our clients to enjoy Queensland's waterways in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner.
Accountabilities include but not limited to:- Attend marine pollution preparedness and response training, participate in, and deliver marine pollution exercises.- Schedule, prepare, conduct and finalise audits for training providers (Boatsafe).- Process and recommend approval of applications and authorities.- Monitor, review and recommend further action relating to competency assessment based processes.- Monitor the condition and operation of vessels.- Undertake comprehensive investigations.- Provide appropriate nautical, legislative and technical advice.
This role reports to the Area Manager.
